Tallow's fatty-acid profile is remarkably close to human sebum — the oil your skin makes itself. That's why it absorbs cleanly instead of sitting on top, and why it was the default skincare ingredient for centuries before laboratories. Ours is rendered slowly from grass-fed, pasture-raised herds we visit ourselves.
For most dry, normal, and mature skin — no; it absorbs cleanly. But we're straight about this: rich, oil-based creams are not what we'd recommend on active breakouts. If you're acne-prone, start with the Cleanser and Toner only, patch test along your jawline for five to seven days, and keep the rich creams for after your skin has settled.
No — tallow is an animal-derived ingredient, and several formulas also contain beeswax and honey. What we can promise is sourcing we stand behind: pasture-raised herds, small batches, and no ingredient we wouldn't name out loud.
Apply a small amount to your inner forearm or jawline, once daily, for 48 hours (five to seven days if you're acne-prone or reactive). If there's no redness, itching, or bumps, you're set. Sensitive skin should introduce one new product at a time, a week apart.
The Body Butter is the one product we suggest for pregnancy dryness — and even then, we'd like your physician in the loop before you add anything new. Please skip the Night Balm during pregnancy; it carries a trace of lavender essential oil.
No. Properly rendered tallow is nearly scentless — a faint, clean, skin-like neutrality. We add no synthetic fragrance to anything; what you may notice is the natural character of olive oil, calendula, or a whisper of honey in the Lip Balm.
Sealed, 12 months from the batch date stamped on the jar; opened, use within 6 months. Keep jars below 24°C and out of direct sun — tallow softens in heat (it re-sets perfectly, but a wooden spoon deserves better). A little genuinely goes a long way: most customers get 2–3 months from the Face Cream.
Every batch is rendered, whipped, and poured in runs of sixty jars or fewer, then hand-stamped. The number ties your jar to its render date and herd source. It's how we'd want food made, so it's how we make skincare.

Anyone with a beef or animal-protein allergy — five of our six products are tallow-based (the Toner is the exception). If you have alpha-gal syndrome, the red-meat allergy acquired from tick bites, mammalian-derived ingredients like tallow may affect you too; many people with AGS tolerate topical products, but some react to trace exposures, so please ask your allergist first. Bee-product allergies rule out the Night Balm and Lip Balm; tree-nut allergies rule out the Body Butter. Our full Safety & Sensitivities guide maps every allergen in every formula.
No — and we won't imply otherwise. Those are medical conditions that deserve a dermatologist. What our products offer is cosmetic comfort for dry, intact skin between flares, ideally with your clinician's knowledge. Our concern pages say this plainly wherever it applies.
Our formulas are made for adults — they contain honey and a trace essential oil, and they haven't been tested on infant skin. For a baby's dry skin, please ask your pediatrician for an infant-tested product. We'd rather lose the sale than guess.
